COA Rally (part 1)

The 2023 COA Rally is underway.  Elkhart County 4-H fairgrounds is located in Goshen, Indiana.  We started the rally off with a weather emergency alert.  We headed to the bath house which is a storm shelter.  We had a short time of some heavy rain with some wind, but it did not last long, and all was well at the campground.

This area of Indiana is under an air advisory due to the smoke coming in from Canada. This should be clearing up in a day or so. It did not affect any of our activities.

I attended two seminars. The first was how a control module in my van called the firefly works.

The second was a session with the general manager of the Coachmen class B division. Nick is such a people person. He treats his employees well and he and his team members have the best customer service.  Nick walks around the campground and talks to everyone.

When telling him about my Alaska trip he immediately asked if I needed any work done on my van.  His technicians are already on site working on various van repairs or issues that might need taken care of and Nick was going to have them take a look at my van.   Fortunately, I was recently at the factory in Middlebury and had my van inspected and all is well.

The quality of the van plus their customer service are two items that helped my decision to purchase a Beyond. Nick listens to his customers and even makes changes to future models due to input that he receives from current van owners. During this session we learned of some upcoming changes to the 2024 model and some insight to some possible future changes.

In 2023 the RV industry sales are down 40% and a lot of RV manufacturers are laying off due to a decrease in demand. This Class B division is down 50 units from last year at this time but are doing much better than the general industry.

These folks are the best!
