Time to start a 3-month journey from Pittsburgh, PA all the way to Alaska and back. Today I traveled a total of 326.2 miles to a KOA in Angola, Indiana. It was overcast or rainy during the trip. I settled into my camp site around 2:30 PM. Lots of trailers and campers are arriving for the weekend. I had a very enjoyable walk around the campground which took me down to the waterfront where people were fishing, and kids were playing in the water.
Next, I head to Goshen, Indiana where I check into the COA Rally. COA stands for Coachmans Owners Association. There is no charge to become a member of the COA. They offer various rallies and events around the United States that members can pay to attend. The COA Rally in Goshen is being held at the Elkhart County fairgrounds. In order to attend you have to be an owner of a Coachmen built RV. Last year there were 157 RV’s in attendance and close to 50 of those RV’s were vans just like mine.
I look forward to meeting up with friends that I have met at previous rallies and also meeting new people. The van community that I am a part of is made up of some really nice people. They are so friendly and helpful with any van questions or modification ideas that I might have and whenever we are together there is always lots of laughter.
