Today I drove 262.1 miles from Banff, Canada to St. Mary’s Montana. There was wildfire smoke in the air for a good portion of the trip all the way to Montana.
I crossed over the border and am now back in the United States.
St. Mary’s KOA was my camp site for the next two nights. I had a nice view of the mountains.
The KOA was very close to the entrance of Glacier National Park. I took my lifetime National Park pass and headed over to the Visitors Center.
They had a lot of great information about the park. In order to drive on the roads around the park you need to make a reservation and purchase a pass. Since I planned last minute, I did not have a reservation.
Because I wanted to see more of the park and not have to worry about driving the roads, I purchased a Red Bus Tour.
It was a great idea, and I enjoyed the drive around the park with information provided by our bus driver/tour guide.
My day of arrival to the St. Mary’s area was overcast and rainy. The day of the tour was perfect weather with sunny skies!
I enjoyed this stop at Glacier National Park!
The next stop is Yellowstone National Park
