Turner’s Corner

Driving down the road toward Hatcher’s Pass I came upon Turner’s Corner and a neat old DIVCO milk truck!

I immediately stepped on the brakes and turned.

Turner’s Corner is a Convenience store, gas station, propane station, and they have a liquor store and it looked like a laundromat and pay showers.  They also sell food and ice cream.

They claim to have the best ice cream around.  I had to get a milk shake and it was very good!

As I was in the store, I met the owner and get this… his name is Jim Turner!  This trip sure is full of coincidences.

The DIVCO truck is what made me stop in the first place.  It has seen better days, but it was so cool to see.  I forgot to ask what year it was, but the owner said he purchased it in Anchorage and was thinking about getting it restored.

What a neat little find in the middle of Alaska!

Next stop is Valdez, Alaska
