Yellowstone National Park

I left St. Mary’s Montana t 7:00am and it was 45 degrees.  I drove a total of 443.7 miles today.

The morning sunrise was stunning.  So many beautiful colors in the sky.

The entire drive today was enjoyable as the scenery was always changing.  I was not on major highways but roads that went through the beautiful state of Montana.  I had to be cautious of cattle on the roads.  Had to stop once to let them cross in front of me.

I first stopped at my campground for the night.  Livingston Paradise Valley KOA.  Once I secured my spot, I left the campground and drove about 1 hour to the entrance of Yellowstone National Park.

I was at the northern portion of the park.  Not near “Old Faithful”.  It was the Mammoth Springs area.

I stopped at the visitor center and learned more about the park.  After the visitor center, I drove around the springs area.

There were a herd of elk in the town area near the visitor center.  The rangers were keeping people away as it was rutting season for the elk and there was a big bull elk present.

This was a beautiful park and I hope to one day return for another visit!

Next up is Wall Drugs and the Badlands
